Chengdu moves at its own pace. The city is easy to like if you accept that pandas, hotpot, and tea houses matter more than a packed checklist.
Line 3 is the one line you should remember. It connects the city center to the panda base well enough to make a half-day feel simple.
The main mistake is trying to do too much in one day. Chengdu rewards mornings at the panda base and slow evenings in Yulin or People's Park.

Metro is easy, taxis are cheap, and shared bikes work well in the flat central districts. Use DiDi after hotpot because late-night metro coverage is limited.
